Project DIMOBI

Digital Mapping of the Behistun Inscription

Project DIMOBI

The aim of Project DIMOBI (Digital Mapping of the Behistun Inscription) is to provide a digital mapping of the Behistun inscription with an accuracy of ±2 millimetres. The Project is presenting more than 650 photographs of the Old Persian text of the Behistun inscription with the highest RGB quality of 4000×3000 pixels. It is by far the most detailed photographic account of the site collected to date. In addition to giving out a comprehensive collection of detailed photographs from the site, the Project is delivering a digital map of the inscription at the Behistun, gridded and frame-worked to the extent that it makes a complete reconstruction of the inscription possible.
